SWIMMING POOL REGULATIONS

The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all residents and guests at Heatherlea of Arlington to assure safe and sanitary operation of the pool facilities. Your cooperation in abiding by these conditions will afford pleasant relaxation and recreation for all. Residents are expected to observe all rules and regulations and to obey all instructions from the lifeguard. Failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for action by the Board of Directors or the Management Company, including the barring of violators from use of the pool area.

1. Hours of Operation:

The pool will open on Saturday, May 29, 2004, and will remain available through Monday, September 6, 2004. The pool weekend hours will be extended to include the second weekend, September 11 & 12, 2004.
School Days (in June) 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday - Thursday & Friday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday closed
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m

The pool will be closed each Wednesday and may be closed at any other time due to inclement weather, breakdown, or other operational difficulties, and at the discretion of the head lifeguard or the Management Company.

2. General Rules and Regulations

  1. The pool is for the use of Heatherlea residents and their guests only. All persons over the age of 12 must present a Heatherlea Recreation Pass to the lifeguard upon entering the pool area. The lifeguard will retain the card, and the card must be retrieved upon leaving the pool area.
    Each unit will be issued 2 guest passes. Guests may use the passes without being accompanied by a resident on weekdays only (excluding holidays). On weekends and holidays, guests must be accompanied by a Heatherlea resident. No one over the age of 12 may use the pool without a valid Heatherlea Recreation Pass. Any exception to these admittance procedures must be approved by the Heatherlea Board of Directors or the Community Manager.


  2. No children in diapers are allowed in the pool. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older for admission to the pool area. NO EXCEPTIONS. Children 10 to 12 years of age must either be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older or be able to pass a swimming test, which meets the minimum standards for water safety as determined by the head lifeguard.


  3. All persons using the pool area do so at their own risk and sole responsibility.


  4. The cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible party. Residents will be held responsible for all actions of their guests. Parents will be held responsible for all actions of their children and their children's guests. The Unit Owners Association will not be responsible for loss or damage to any personal property of any kind.


  5. Running, pushing, wrestling, ball playing, or causing undue disturbance in/or about the pool area will not be tolerated.


  6. Only one person may be on the diving board at a time. Diving is permitted straight away from the board only. No diving or jumping toward the walls will be permitted. In the interest of the majority and at the sole discretion of the head lifeguard, the diving board may be closed. Residents are not to change the position of the fulcrum on the diving board to give the board more spring.


  7. With the exception of Seeing-Eye Dogs, no pets are allowed within the pool area.


  8. No intrusive personal recreational or play equipment may be used in the pool. (This excludes instructional devices, which may be used in conjunction with training under the direction and discretion of the lifeguard.)


  9. With the exception of wheelchairs, no wheeled vehicles are permitted in the pool area.


  10. No leather-soled footwear will be permitted on the concrete apron portion of the pool area.


  11. Admission will be refused to all persons having an infectious disease, sore or inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharge, or any communicable disease of any kind. Persons with excessive sunburn, open sores, or bandages of any kind will not be admitted.


  12. Spouting of water and similar unhealthy actions will not be permitted in the pool.


  13. Proper attire should be worn to and from the pool.


  14. No abusive or profane language or breach of peace will be tolerated.


  15. Bathhouse, showers, and sanitary facilities are provided.


  16. No bottles or glass will be allowed in the pool area and all beverages, food, or refreshments served, bought, or taken into the pool area must be in paper containers. No food will be consumed in the immediate vicinity of the pool area. All trash and refuse must be placed in the receptacles provided. Smoking materials are to be extinguished only in the receptacles provided.


  17. The head lifeguard is responsible for the strict enforcement of the pool rules and regulations. He/she has authorization to temporarily deprive any resident or guest of use of this facility. A written statement is to be filed with the Management Company within 24 hours if such action is taken.


  18. All emergencies are to be reported immediately to the head lifeguard, who will then take charge of the situation. A written statement is to be filed with the Management Company within 24 hours.


  19. These rules may be revised or additional rules established at any time by the Heatherlea Board of Directors.


  20. The pool contractor will provide swimming lessons for residents if prior arrangements are made with the head lifeguard.


  21. A resident must not loan his Recreation Pass to another individual.


  22. At the discretion of the lifeguard, for 15 minutes of each hour, there will be a rest period when children under the age of 16 will be asked to vacate the pool.

  24. Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages within the fenced-in pool area is strictly prohibited.
